Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • speak to the Convenor;
  • attend your hearing of the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal (CYCT);
  • bring a supporter or Advocate with you to your hearing;
  • ask to speak to the CYCT members on your own;
  • ask for the hearing to stop for a while so you can have a break;
  • ask for the hearing to be adjourned to another date if you need more information or time to prepare;
  • appeal against the decision of the hearing;
  • request another hearing after 3 months; and
  • complain if you are not happy about how you have been treated.
